Happy birthday to my niece Emma! Every princess needs a butterfly garden. That was my sister's inspiration for Emma's 4th birthday. The best part of her party was all the kids getting spun in circles by Aunt Monica. Always a good workout when I hang out with my niece and newphew.

Gone Fishin' Cupcakes
Happy Birthday to my brother Cameron who just turned the BIG 14!!! It was hard to compete with his awesome new BASS BOAT! However, I humbly tried to make cupcakes that compare and go with the theme. Not to mention I did not know there was going to be a birthday party until about 2 days ahead of time. Shame on me for not coming up with the idea! LOL! Let me take you along on Cameron's birthday fishing adventure:
We set our lines and prayed for the fish to bite, even in the relentless waves.
The fish are swimming all around us, teasing us. They chant "I'm a clever fishy you can't catch me!"
Oh wait! Cameron feels a tug on his line. It is an HUGE rock fish. There is nothing better than reeling in a fish on your birthday in your brand new boat!
Cameron, hope you catch many more fish on your boat. Love you, buddy!

Owl Cupcakes
Whooo...Whooo's turning 3 years old? It is my cute as a button neice Emma. Big, bright eyed owls everywhere and even some to eat. I took a few tries to figure out how to make cute bugged eyed owls. However, they sure did turn out so super duper cute! Check them out!

Chocolate Chips!
So, who doesn't like chocolate? That's right no sane person hates chocolate. And if you close you eyes and remember the first time you realized you had found your 1st love...I bet you are thinking of a chocolate chip cookie. Well, this taking our beloved chocolate chips and upping the chocolate ante. Imagine a moist chocolaty cake, topped with a velety cream cheese icing then sprinkled with crunchy chocolate chips! Hey...you need a napkin you have drool on your chin. Yeah you got it. Nevermind check out the pics and dream on.

Taylor's Sweet 16
I had the privilege of doing cupcakes for Miss Taylor's Sweet Sixteen Birthday! Happy Birthday Taylor! We made 9 dozen cupcakes and a 3 layer cake for her big day. As you can see 9 dozen cupcakes took up three rooms in my house, kitchen, dining, and the cupcakes nestled right on in my living room as well. (At least they were comfortable, watching TV in my living room, resting up for their big night. LOL!)

Red Velvet, Chocolate, and Vanilla cupcakes were all on the guest list for this party. The color scheme of the party was ivory, purple and black, a little bird, also told me Miss Taylor likes zebra. So this was the perfect way to incorporate all her colors. We had zebra liners on all the cupcakes and made some zebra daises for the cake to give the cake a little flare and pizazz. We also dressed up all the little cupcakes and the cake for this special occasion. All the little cupcakes got to were their pearls to the party.

Fast Cars and Freedom
So these cupcakes are for Landon's 5th birthday! Happy Birthday Landon!!!! Landon is a little boy who is always moving 100 mph, so I'm told (hints the speed limit on these cupcakes)! Landon I hope you love your cupcakes!
I am excited to tell everyone about these cupcakes because this is the first time I have ever worked with regular fondant. I have worked with a marshmallow fondant once before, but this was an awesome learning experience! The roads are made of fondant with a simple butter cream to paint the lines. The signs were also done in fondant. I know my hand writing is atrocious next time I will pipe the words. I can pipe better than I can write...God must have made me to be a baker!
This is also the first time I had ever piped grass! I know, I know, you are not supposed to let the cake underneath show! However, since it was a chocolate cupcake I thought it made it look like dirt underneath. Plus, anyone who knows me understands that it is near impossible for me to follow rules all the time! LOL
Unfortunately, I was too afraid to make the cars out of fondant (my 1st time and all) so the cars are micro machines. Which by the way, apparently are not popular with kids today like when I was growing up. We had to look everywhere for these. Growing up you could find these at the gas station. Okay, so now I am really showing my age. Funny story: I even asked a girl at Michael's if she had micro machines, and she said "what are they?" One of her co-workers had to chime in and state the now obvious fact that she "was too young to know about micro machines!" Wow, you don't realize you are getting old until something like that comes and slaps you in the face!
And of course, what five year old boy wouldn't want car crashes on his birthday cupcakes? So because there were two dozen cupcakes we put a car wreck on each dozen! One even has the fire truck coming to the rescue! (I think these are so cool, plus his big brother is a volunteer fireman/race car driver!)
All in all, these cupcakes were extremely fun to make! I also learned a lot by trial and error...but none the less, lessons were learned and shall never be forgotten! LOL!!!

Stargazer Lily Cupcakes
My friend called me up to make cupcakes for her wedding anniversary. She wanted a cupcake the reminded her of wedding cake with her favorite flower on top...A Stargazer Lily! I of course, was so tickled to be asked with the honor of making anniversary cupcakes I said "I would love too!" As I hung up the phone I realized that I had 2 days to make a new cupcake recipe...I had no simple yellow cake or vanilla buttercream's tested out yet. Not to mention I had never made any flower out of icing EVER!!!! LOL So my adventure began! Anyway, I LOVED the challenge!
It might have taken some trial and error but I think the lilies turned out gorgeous. Too bad I found out later that these flowers take about a week to dry properly. So they were delivered still in the foil.
Let me know what you think. Thanks!
